John Robb on Oil and War Excellent essay by John Robb on the link between the war on Iraq and Oil. This is so obvious I can only assume journalists must be incompetent/biased. At least bloggers give an alternative view.

New stuff, that I didn't cover yet, is mainly derived from this point:

in: 2003: Oil and War

The major complicating factor is that the US is running out of oil. There is an increasing gap between production and available reserves that will explode in less than a decade. (...) In effect, we are close to becomming nearly totally dependent on oil production from the Middle East.
Some of the stuff I said contradicts Jon Robb's data. Namely, Hubbert's peak, which states that oil production will peak in 2003-2004. I'd like to take some time to check sources.

Most of my theory on the attack on Iraq is on this post. Posted by Sergio Carvalho at December 17, 2002 05:50 PM | TrackBack
